The cloudless sky that is directly above a rustic town, the sun paused as if to watch two men standing back-to-back with one another, ready to duel in-between classy and shanty type storefronts. The people having evacuated the street in favor of shelter, the shelter that offers a vantage point, not wanting to miss the action and so, through a lens of dusty windows, they look on with anticipation.
A third man officiates, explaining the rule “on my command take fifteen paces, then turn drawing your pistol and fire,” he dashes to safety and shouts “GO!” So, in the blink of an eye, one man remains standing and the other man sent to the promise land. If one of these men disregarded the rules, choosing to turn and fire at step ten, killing the other, he would be met with severe consequences for his actions.
Life in this temporal world is our fight between God’s truth and Satan’s subtle lies. The present-day duel takes place on an ideological battlefield of truth, words are our weapons and in the end, the choices made on either side, result in serious eternal consequences. The difference between these two opposing sides is infinite, such as, the intellectuals occupy one side and they fancy science, as well as the Darwinian theory of evolution. In contrast, Christians trust in the Word of God (Bible) and worship the Father in spirit and truth.
In between these two ideological points, is an ocean of indifference and those choosing to drift in the lukewarm waters of insignificance, automatically default to an eternity south of heaven. For the unsuspecting soul that chooses to bask in the bright sunlight of the here-and-now has chosen to deliberately ignore the signs of the approaching storm and choosing the dream of perpetual bliss that is until a blistering flash of light shatters their fantasy world.
This flashing light splits the temporal from the everlasting and the soul experiences a fleeting glimpse of life complete. The ill-informed soul that rejected the truth, will begin trembling in the face of the coming darkness, the darkness that drags the fully aware soul through the quicksand of their death. Chained to the pitch-blackness of torment, the soul cries out “WHY, OH WHY!” as their screams succumb to the chilling voices echoing throughout their consciousness and the crushing blows of torment from flashbacks of the squandered opportunities to accept the truth that is Jesus Christ.
Now, in the living years is when discovering the purpose for your life, which is answered, in “the conclusion, of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Life being filled with hazards, yet no one “that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier” (2 Timothy 2:4) and exhaustive studying of God’s word to “shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed…” (2 Timothy 2:15).
The 21st-century has access to information, like no other time in history and there are zero excuses for getting trapped in the quicksand of denominationalism. The love of Christ is reason enough for becoming an astute student of the Holy Scriptures, which equips the student in navigating the manufactured quicksand and not become hypnotized by mirages, which equates to negative interference by human agent provocateurs of their father, the devil.
Denominationalism integrates the of traditions of men, with the doctrines of devils and succumbing to the cocktail of lies, only guarantees a ticket on the hell-bound express. Who then is accountable for this trickery? Those pulling the levers of destruction, they shall be held accountable for their deceptive practices and the prey that gets caught up in this manufactured quicksand (i.e. denominationalism), well, it ultimately rests upon prey.
Willful ignorance, itchy ears, and a craving for smooth preaching joined with a dependability on subjectivism as a truth-meter, increases one’s susceptibility towards being brainwashed and those lacking the mental fortitude for educating themselves, especially in the area of “hermeneutics” (method of interpretation), “exegesis” (out of), and “eisegesis” (own ideas) is utterly defenseless. Like a moth to a flame, quicksand-Christianity yields to the false teachings of a demonic Pied Piper and they perpetuate the belief in thoughtless endurance is acceptable to Christ, which he will count you among his soldiers.
Spewing blatant lies, masked as interpretational differences and their fierce defense of their truth, with no scriptural support, leaves one outside of Christ. While it should behoove everyone to investigate a claimed truth, if, you fail to “[s]tudy to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15), the unwillingness grows for acquiescing to the truth that “[t]here is one body, one Spirit…one hope…[o]ne Lord, one faith, and one baptism” (Ephesians 4:4-5), this leaves you standing as a child of the devil. Ignoring the truth that “[a]ll scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16), you make the counsel of God elusive, keeping you lost in the dark.
Acknowledging the accelerated flow within contemporary society, which has pushed to the forefront, distractions that supersede one’s obedience to God and while providing for your family’s well-being is a necessary inconvenience to studying the word of God, it would seem the society’s priorities have flipped upside-down.
The encouragement to Timothy, from the apostle Paul, who wrote: “[t]hat the man of God may (no guarantee) be perfect, throughly (perfect) furnished unto all good works” (2 Timothy 3:17), when you preach, “[p]reach the word; be instant in season, out of season…” (2 Timothy 4:2). To Titus, the preacher of the church at Crete, Paul wrote: “[h]olding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake” (Titus 1:9-11).
The unabashed obligation meant for every single professing Christian, is obedience to the commands of the Lord Jesus Christ, that“[t]hou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself” and Christ affirmed this by saying, “[t]hou has answered right: this do, and thou shalt live” (Luke 10:27-28), enough said!
